Ever been blown through a gun turret? Perk has. Titanium from the waist down along with three different cancers - she fought and won. This is Perk and she is one of the most bad ass people I have ever known.
While fighting for our country she was ejected from her Humvee and catapulted 500 ft. She was the only one who survived.
What would come next would be a life of anguish, survivor’s guilt, pain, endless surgeries, a mind and a body that doesn’t work like everyone else’s.
Through all of this, she refuses to let her light be extinguished. She does whatever she can to keep going. Hunting, fishing, and kayaking are a few things she loves to do, she finds solace in them. But because she is titanium from the waist down she requires a special kind of kayak.
We are doing everything in our power to get her the kayak she needs. We are asking for your help. We need another $1500 to get what she needs.
Some of you see a veteran and thank them for their service, but that’s as far is it goes. You continue with your life not giving a second thought about the true sacrifice that was made.
