Leesa is a Navy Vet that came to us while living in her car over a year ago. Through a team effort with another org, she is now housed, but still has a long way to go before she's truly on her feet.
We're shooting for a pretty simple lift---about $700 for a washer and dryer, and a little bit extra each month to supplement her disability pay, which isn't adequate to meet her family's needs.
"My name is Jaleesa imma single mother of 3 Prince (7), Messiah (6) and Brooklyn Grace (3)and a disabled veteran. I'm struggling to make ends meet as my kids are out on summer break and I have zero support system from my own family or their dad and his family. I was homeless for three years. When i was finally housed the bills started back coming in. Funds got shorter I'm doing everything I can so my kids won't feel this struggle. I don't have a washer and dryer so I have to pay to was and dry clothes and I normally have at least like 3-4 loads. With three small kids 7 and under and my baby potty training and still makes a lot of mistakes"
