Meet Jacob. Army Veteran and father to a daughter slain in Uvalde.
Getting home from our third mission to Uvalde, we were all filled with a sense of thankfulness, pride, and hope. This community continues to amaze and astound. But the job is never over, so today we’re asking for your help.
Jacob lost his beautiful daughter Makenna in the tragedy at Robb Elementary. As his family is trying to pick up shattered pieces of a broken life, Jacob is working, and staying busy finishing up things around his home. As a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he is no stranger to hard work but age and injury have made some of these tasks too much for one man.
We’re looking for anyone who’s willing to donate their time and effort and potentially skilled labor to help Jacob with finishing his home. If you or someone you know has plumbing or general labor skills and want to help please reach out to us here.
I am always impressed with our veteran network and it’s ability to find the right person and the right heart for the job. Jacob humbled us with his support while we visited this past time, and now we need to repay him in kind.
Jacob isn't the only Vet affected by what happened and we've had a few folks reach out and ask how to help anonymously in financial ways, so we've set up a blind donor fund to help with that. All funds will go directly to affected Veterans and/or their kids.
